On Saturday 20th Cheshire Fire Cadets held their first annual Celebration day. An opportunity to celebrate and reward the achievements of cadets from across the county. The day also allowed cadets to meet up with friends from other stations, learn more about what their fellow cadets have been up to over the last year and a chance to take part in some fun competitions.

The event held at Mid Cheshire College, Northwich was attended by over 100 cadet and volunteer staff members with a total of 17 cadet units represented. The largest gathering of Cheshire Fire Cadets to date. The day started with a formal parade and inspection on the drill yard followed by the annual hose competition, all observed and supported by family and friends. This was followed by a more formal awards ceremony which included a review of the year and a talk by cadets from the Nepal team. During the ceremony an number of awards were presented by Cheshire Fire & Rescue Services Youth Engagement Manager, Nick Evans, these included presentations to 25 cadets for completion of their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and awards for Cadet of the Year, Cadet Unit of the Year and a Cadet Citizenship Award, which will now be annually presented.
