The FSYTA is a registered charity (No. 1062910) set up to support member fire and rescue services to further their work with children and young people.

FSYTA is the largest fire and rescue sector association in the UK established solely for the benefit of young people and the fire and rescue services working with them.

About the Fire Service Youth Training Association

The objectives of the Fire Services Youth Training Association are to improve the efficiency of the administration of the varied fire service related youth training schemes operated throughout the United Kingdom. To achieve this, the FSYTA pursue our objectives by providing education, advice, information and other assistance appropriate to our operation.

In meeting our objectives we contribute to the development of young people by encouraging them to adopt the positive culture of the Fire and Rescue Service.

In this section you will find further information on the FSYTA and it’s Executive Committee, membership to the organisation (only open to UK Fire and Rescue Services), Fire Cadets and Emergency Services Cadets and their National Development Team

Information Centre

Our Info Centre has been designed to support member Fire and Rescue Services with delivering their youth engagement schemes.

Through this Centre you will gain access to our National Framework for Fire Cadets including implementation plans, and support with recruitment and assessment centres. You will also find lesson plans, resources and risk assessments to support the delivery of Fire Cadets in your area.

Information on the BTEC Level 2 in Fire and Rescue Services in the Community and the ASDAN Fire and Rescue Short Course, and what is required to deliver these courses in your area, can be found under the Qualifications section.
